Schmitz curtainsider semi-trailers with Doppelstock system are designed for transportation of consolidated cargoes as well as full truck loads and long goods. A technical capability of double-deck placement and transportation of cargoes contributes to increased filled cargo space and therefore to cost saving per unit of the transported cargo.

Lengthwise and cross second level steel beams, so called “second deck”, are height and length adjustable which provides an opportunity to place cargoes of different height and length about the entire semi-trailer. And if these beams are mounted along the side walls in addition to existing aluminum beams, a “rigid” side is formed allowing transportation of rolled textile, bagged loose goods, tires and other non-standard goods. The second deck can be also used for weight transfer of non-stackable cargoes in the semi-trailer with due regard for axle weight limit in case of loading of non-uniform pallets (consignments of goods).

Dimensions of the doppelstock inner space: height is 2.93 m, length is 13.62 m, width is 2.48 m. Allowable load on the second level is 10 tonnes. Back, side and top loading and unloading are possible due to availability of raising pillars, side curtains and a sliding tilted roof.
