Travel Note
We all know the feeling of excitement we get before a long journey when we look forward to new impressions and new valuable experience.
It took us almost a month to get prepared for this long journey. Transportation of a 3.99 m wide cargo was a serious, complicated but interesting project.
We opted to go through Lithuania as no Poland-Belarus border crossing would permit us to pass with a 3.99 m wide cargo. We had the route approved by road traffic authorities and obtained the oversize cargo transportation permits. We worked out reliable cargo securing schemes, considering duration of the transportation and road conditions in certain regions.
With the project being thoroughly planned, and determination set in our mind, we hit the road!
During the whole route the “wide” cargo was escorted by pilot cars, either those of the company or of the third parties involved.
Despite the unscheduled road works in one of the tunnels in Germany, which was on route in our permit, and despite time limitations for carrying the oversize cargo during the day, we managed to deliver the cargo on time according to the recipient’s requests.
