A new stage of development started with purchase by the Group of Companies of a lot of Schmitz curtainsider semi-trailers with Doppelstock system. This is a special type of vehicles enabling double-deck placement and transportation of non-stackable cargoes, the pallet-type ones first of all. The semi-trailer cargo volume is 95 m3. These semi-trailers have a technical capability of double loading (so called “second deck”), representing an ideal solution for transportation of consolidated cargoes, low-height full truck loads, long goods. Increased filled cargo space contributes to cost saving per unit of the transported freight.
There should also be noted other design features of doppelstocks which increase cargo transportation effectiveness. Cross steel beams, which are fixed between pillars and support the second deck, are height adjustable. And if they are mounted along side walls in addition to existing aluminum beams, we get a “rigid” side which is indispensable and needed for transportation of rolled textile, bagged loose goods, tires and other non-standard goods. Top and side loading is possible due to availability of raising pillars, side curtains and sliding tilted roof.
Using the full potential of the doppelstock system, we get a possibility to offer more reasonable logistical solutions at prices beneficial to our customers.
The motor vehicle fleet of the Group of Companies also received Schmitz drop-side tilted semi-trailers of increased volume, Mega type (loading volume is 100 m3, internal height is 2.96 meters) and Scania truck tractors for all received semi-trailers.
New motor vehicles meet EURO-5 standard, are equipped with the GPS-monitoring system and have XL certificates confirming reliability of the fastening systems and sufficient wall strength for safe cargo transportation, including on abrupt turns or during hard braking.
Using modern road trains, we maintain high level of service for the customers, ensure comfortable working conditions for drivers and contribute to environmental protection, which, taken as a whole, promotes successful and consecutive evolution of the Kapitan brand.
